ABOUT US:
The Fairfax Lectern, Inc., located in San Rafael, California, is an educational company that publishes preparation materials for the entrance exams required by most undergraduate and graduate degree programs worldwide.
Professor Dave Scalise, Founder, has served the company in several capacities: president, executive director, treasurer, curriculum director, and company attorney (and he sometimes sweeps the floors at night too.) As a writer and teacher for the company, Professor Dave Scalise has helped more than 200,000 students prepare for the SAT, GMAT, LSAT, GRE, and ACT, devoting his career to helping others reach their goals.
Early on, Scalise wrote and edited ninety percent of the materials himself, but now he's helped by a 25-person cadre of faculty members, marketing staff, curriculum experts, educational writers, editors, illustrators, graphic artists, CD developers, printers, and a fulfillment house.
Sean Upton, Curriculum Director, has also worn many hats, including serving as Copy Editor, Production Manager, and Newsletter Editor. She had an extensive background in publishing and communications before joining The Fairfax Lectern in-house staff in 1993. Currently, Upton monitors the changes in standardized tests, igniting the phases of production in response to exam revisions. She also works closely with instructors and university administrators, ensuring smooth operations of the courses offered on college campuses nationwide.
