The Fairfax Lectern -- Who We Are

The Fairfax Lectern was founded in 1978 by Executive Director David Scalise, a Business Law professor at the University of San Francisco, in response to a growing interest in and reliance on test preparation services. In his many years developing test preparation courses, Professor Scalise has assembled an outstanding staff of writers and educators from universities nationwide who are dedicated to creating superior materials and an effective classroom experience to maximize students' testing potential.

Sean Upton, Curriculum Director, is responsible for the ongoing curriculum management including updating the 26 published books, maintaining liaisons with instructors, responding to student questions, and publishing the in-house newsletter. Sean has been with The Fairfax Lectern since 1992. She earned an M.S. degree in Mass Communications and has a background in educational publishing and curriculum design.
